NATIONAL HISTORY DAY
NATIONAL HISTORY DAY
National History Day is a US-based charitable organization which runs a history contest with the same name for middle and high school students. This annual contest is open to students from the United States, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico as well as participating countries in Central America and Asia.
Each year, National History Day announces the contest theme, and students select an appropriate topic. Students then decide which project category to enter (essay, poster, performance, film, website). Please visit the official National History Day website for more about this competition: https://www.nhd.org
I created independent documentary films for National History Day contest for five consecutive years advancing from Baltimore City to Maryland to the national competition each year. The final year my entry won first place in my category.
I list and provide links to my five National History Day films below. These films may be screened in the classroom or at school club meetings using the links provided. Please screen the films with credits. Do not charge people to view these films; they were created for educational purposes. Teachers may include these films on course syllabi and in lists of recommended viewing. Do not reuse portions of these films in your own National History Day entry or for other competitions.
